Elsie Maye Price of Abilene went to her heavenly home in the early morning hours Tuesday, February 16. 2021, at the age of 80.
Elsie was born April 26, 1940 in Austin, Texas to T.M. and Velma Smith Clark. She married James Monroe (Jim) Price February 14, 1957. He preceded her in death in 2012.
Elsie was a homemaker, who loved going to church and talking to family and friends. She ran a daycare in her home for many years. She was a member of Hope Eternal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, and a brother, Bobby Clark.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ananahyah Hawkins (Cheryl Wilde) and husband C.G. Hawkins (Mike Wilde) of Eula; and son Charles Price and wife Betty of Abilene; a brother, Fred Clark and wife Debbie of Baton Rouge, LA; sister-in-law Ellen Owen of Abilene; grandchildren Bobby Price and wife Abby of Panama City, FL, and Broderick Price and wife Krystian of Abilene; three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Asher and Axl; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
A celebration of Elsie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. 3rd Street in Baird. It was her wishes to have a closed casket service. A private burial will be held. Those attending the service are reminded of social distancing guidelines and asked to wear face coverings.
