Glenda Dale Bruton

Glenda Dale Bruton left this life May 26, 2022, at the age of 70.

Glenda was born April 15, 1952 in Telegraph, Texas to John Franklin and Cora Lee Miller Blakeney. Her father was a preacher and involved in work with the Salvation Army. Glenda attended school at San Jacinto Elementary, San Angelo Central High School, and San Angelo Business College.  She married Charles Bruton in 1997. She worked as a manager for Best Western Hotels in Palestine and managed apartments in Brownwood for many years. She enjoyed interior decorating, painting, outdoor activities, cooking, baking, fishing and boating.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Johnie Lee Hight, Rose Rouse, and Lynn Ashvy; and brothers Art and Burl Blakeney.

Glenda is survived by her husband, Charles, of Clyde; daughter, Sherry Carter and husband Tim of Bangs;  son, Scott Wilkerson of Stephenville; sisters Sharon Perdue of San Angelo, Letha Wilbur and husband John of Arkansas; a grandchildren, Jessica Kauffman and Amanda DeLone; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 3, 2022, at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home, 141 E. 3rd Street in Baird.
