Jack Allen Ryan of Baird passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, in Abilene at the age of 60.
Jack was born May 20, 1961, in San Angelo to Floyd Redmond and Charlcie (Hass) Ryan. He married Melody Fletcher July 16, 1979, and the couple recently celebrated 42 years of marriage.
Jack joined the U.S. Army in 1978 and served out assignments in supply & logistics at Fort Hood, Texas and as a Wire Systems Operator Specialists in Nurnberg, Germany, until he was honorably discharged in 1986. While serving Jack was awarded the Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Achievement Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Expert Rifleman Badge. After his discharge from the Army, utilizing his military training, Jack spent the next 35 years in telecommunications field as a technician, a system development engineer and as system support engineer.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and cooking, and was an active member of the Baird, Texas American Legion
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Redmond Ryan, in 2004 and his mother, Charlcie (Hass) Ryan, in 2009.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Melody Ryan of Baird; sons Justin Ryan and Steven Ryan of Wylie, Texas; and grandsons, Andrew, Skylar and Sawyer Ryan.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home in Baird. Graveside services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Ross Cemetery Spencer-Price Addition in Baird.
