JoAnn Aust

JoAnn Wofford Aust passed away unexpectedly December 25, 2020 at the age of 69.

JoAnn was born October 15, 1951 in Monahans, Texas to Kenneth Johnson and Freada Colleen Young Wofford.  She attended Abilene High School.  JoAnn married John Michael Aust in Abilene on June 2, 1974, and the couple was married 46 years.  She was a true servant, reaching out to others in need, providing food and clothing, as the Director of Mission of Miracles in Baird.

JoAnn was a very loving and caring woman.  Many have described her as God’s Hands on Earth.  Her loving and caring way with everyone was amazing.  She didn’t know a stranger, and everyone she came into contact with were all soon HER PEOPLE…. and HER FAMILY.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Kenneth Johnson Wofford and Freada Colleen Allen; a sister, Jane Chittum; and a nephew, Johnson Chittum.

Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, John Aust; daughters Rhonda (Russell) Schroeder of Clyde, Colleena (Eddie) Rodriquez of Abilene, Kenda Aust of Baird, and Shonna (Miguel) Cerda of Abilene; a son, John Michael Aust II of Baird; grandchildren Suzan Person, Fanuel Price, Jr., Kayla Heard, Shyote Pelletier, Danny Hazelwood, Marrissa Rodriquez, Evelynn Rodriquez, Dommenyque Aust, Lucus Inthnoi, Charlize Cerda, and Scarlett Cerda; 19 great-grandchildren (with more on the way); a sister, Gloria (Jesse) Fields of Carrollton, GA; and brother-in-law, Bob Chittum.

She also leaves behind special friends, Lana, Jim, Ginny and so many others.  She loved all HER PEOPLE of Baird and Clyde and homeless communities.

A celebration of JoAnn’s life will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home Chapel.  JoAnn will be buried at Belle Plaine Cemetery.   Those attending are reminded of social distancing guidelines.  Face coverings will be required
