Shawn Deel Simons

Shawn Deel Simons 63, of Baird passed from this life Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 just a day short of her 64th birthday. 

She was born December 21, 1958 in Leonard Texas to Billy Charles Deel and Barbara Smith Deel.  Shawn grew up in Baird and was a 1977 graduate of Baird HS. For 20 years she enjoyed life in Mesa, Arizona where she raised her daughter before moving back to Texas. At the age of 50 Shawn went to Cisco College where she obtained her RN. She went on to be a pediatric nurse at Pediatric Associates. She loved her job and worked until health issues forced her to retire. Shawn loved her family and friends and loved to travel. She loved and cared for everyone she knew.

Shawn was preceded in death by Mother Barbara Smith Deel.

She is survived by her father Billy Charles Deel; daughter Micah Roden & husband Justin, Sisters Carman Deel and Carla McIntire, brothers Billy Deel II and wife Tracy, Shane Deel and Wife Julie; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, December 23, 2022, at Parker-Jacobs Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 24, 2022, at the Methodist Church, Hwy 283 north in Baird, with John Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Ross Cemetery.
